Remembering Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 17, 2022
Today, we honor the legacy of one of our greatest leaders in American civil rights, Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.
Through his unwavering commitment to nonviolent protest, he showed the way for all of us to stand up and speak out in the face of injustice. In his words: “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
Silence can be deafening.
Now, more than ever, we must heed the message of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As we all march onward, we must do so with fairness, compassion, and understanding. As we all work to strengthen our democracy, we must ensure that everyone has an equal voice, an equal vote. And as we all define our own future in the days to come, we must decide how we will be active and participatory in our own lives.
I also ask that you take a moment and examine your conscience by asking yourself, “How am I making a difference in the world?” At Bay Path, on Saturday, January 22, we will be holding a day of service to mark this great man’s achievements. You can learn more by clicking here. Please come and make a difference.
In the spirit that binds us all, Carpe Diem!
Sincerely,
Sandra J. Doran, J.D.
President, Bay Path University
