Gillian N. Palmer, DBA

Dr. Gillian Palmer is the Chair of the Undergraduate On-Site Business Programs and Assistant Professor of Business in the School of Management & Technology.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems & Marketing from American International College, a Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Studies from Bay Path University and a Doctorate of Business Administration from University of Rhode Island where her dissertation focused on the use of mindfulness practices to influence consumer behavior in the Hospitality and Events Industries.

As a pracademic, Dr. Palmer began her career in academia as an Assistant Professor of Management in the Undergraduate Residential Business Program at Bay Path University all while making the official leap into the world of entrepreneurship launching Events by Gillian, specializing in event management, planning and consulting. Prior to joining Bay Path University, Dr. Palmer enjoyed an exciting career at Eastern States Exposition, Home of The Big E, where she performed many duties from Business Development Coordinator to Food Concessions Manager. Furthermore, she held a fulfilling career with MassMutual Financial Group which concluded as a Relationship Manager for a prestigious concierge program supporting the finest insurance agents in the company.

As a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, Dr. Palmer thrives on giving back to her community. Her objective in life is to constantly improve herself while helping others realize their true potential. She has served on many boards and is currently an active board member of Square One.

Dr. Palmer is the proud recipient of BusinessWest’s 40 Under Forty award, Bay Path University’s Recent Alumni Award, a graduate of the Institute of Fair Management, and a graduate of the Springfield Leadership Institute. In her free time, she most enjoys traveling, live music and participating in creative activities.
