Megan Trinkle-Knotts, MS, CGC

Assistant Director & Clinical Coordinator Genetic Counseling; Assistant Professor

BS, Indiana University; MS, Indiana School of Medicine

Megan began her career at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis working in both prenatal and pediatric practice for nearly 10 years. During that time, she helped develop a statewide Perinatal Loss Evaluation Program offering a free customized evaluation service for families experiencing a stillbirth and a Cord Blood Collection/Genetics Consultation Initiative to avoid “missed opportunities” for babies that were identified as having an anomaly or suspected life-threating complications. In 2015, she joined The Center for Genomic Advocacy at Indiana State University to establish a new Master’s in Genetic Counseling Program as well as a new Genetic Counseling Clinic focusing on oncology and psychiatric genetic counseling. In 2021, she joined the Genetic Counseling Program at Bay Path University as the Assistant Director/Fieldwork Coordinator. Here she is responsible for establishing all of the fieldwork/clinical experiences of the students all across the country. She is an active member of the genetic counseling community through research, publications and engaging in organizations such as the Indiana Network of Genetic Counselors, Association of Genetic Counseling Program Directors, National Society of Genetic Counselors and Indiana Maternal Mortality Review Committee.
