Tracy L. Bentley-Root, OT, DHSc, MSOT, OTR

Interim Program Director, Master of Occupational Therapy Programs; Associate Professor

Dr. Bentley-Root is an occupational therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience across the adult continuum of care. Highlights of her clinical practice include a private practice for an underserved population, serving as a corporate director for a national home health company, and educating future occupational therapy practitioners as a fieldwork educator. As a first-generation student, Dr. Bentley-Root is a passionate educator who strives to support all her students in achieving their best lives. She has presented at the state and national levels on various topics, including functional cognition, medication management, and role-emerging practice.

Dr. Bentley-Root’s research interests include role-emerging practice areas and cognitive interventions for individuals with mild cognitive impairment. She has also been a peer reviewer for the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab.

She holds licenses in Louisiana, Massachusetts, and New York.
