Student Learning Outcomes
The fully online Master of Science in Cybersecurity cuts across organizational lines, taking a holistic approach to protecting digital assets (data, software programs, and networks). The emphasis is on developing cybersecurity leaders.
Master of Science in Cybersecurity (CBY Generalist)
Successful graduates from this program will be able to:
- Evaluate technological developments and associated information, assurance and security risk.
- Develop effective risk assessment programs.
- Develop holistic governance programs for managing information risk.
- Integrate security into the organizational culture while engaging all organizational stakeholders.
- Assess the impact of human factors and security strategies and potential breaches of security.
- Understand legal and regulatory requirements in the United States and internationally.
- Develop and implement information assurance and security policies, including emergency management policies.
- Develop and ensure quality control in information assurance and security management.
Master of Science in Cybersecurity (CBY Digital Forensics)
Successful graduates from this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of current approaches to detect and or deter cybercrime and to investigate incidences related to digital crime activity.
- Demonstrate a mastery level of understanding of digital forensic tools and techniques using tools commonly employed by digital forensics professionals.
- Express an understanding of current issues relating to digital forensics and determine the best practices for attending to them based upon available resources and tools, and the overall needs of the organization.
- Express an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to work in the field of cybersecurity.
- Describe and explain the various proactive approaches to deterring and investigating cybercrime.
Master of Science in Cybersecurity (CBY Cyber Defense)
Successful graduates from this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of current approaches to solve problems through logical thinking and critical analysis.
- Demonstrate a mastery level of understanding of computer programming fundamentals and problem-solving techniques using open-source software.
- Express an understanding of current issues relating to computer programming and determine the best practices for attending to them based upon available resources and tools.
- Express an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to work in the field of computer programming.
- Describe and explain the various Python objects, variables, libraries, data structures, and condition statements to be employed when addressing programming issues.
