Healthcare Management (MS) Concentrations
Quality of care and patient safety consistently rank among the top priorities for healthcare organizations across all settings. This 12-credit elective track prepares students to investigate and implement data-informed strategies to enhance patient safety and care quality. Students develop expertise in identifying risks, creating risk management plans, and using data analytics to support effective decision-making. This concentration explores the critical role of local, state, and national health policy with emphasis on policy analysis, advocacy, and implementation across diverse healthcare settings. Students develop practical skills in strategizing, implementing, and evaluating organizational improvements using project management principles.
Healthcare quality is consistently among the top five skills healthcare employers seek in their healthcare administrators. Students who choose this concentration will earn a certificate in Quality and Safety Management. This concentration equips students with knowledge and skills necessary to sit for the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) exam, a highly respected credential in health care.

Business
The MS in Healthcare Management Business Concentration applies concepts from the University’s MBA program to distinct organizational scenarios of the healthcare sector. This collaboration produces a comprehensive curriculum that addresses the rapidly evolving nature of the healthcare management environment. In addition to maintaining the financial stability of an organization, healthcare executives must lead teams of specialists, oversee operations, stay apprised of technological and scientific advancements, and abide by policies and regulations. Managing all of this while ensuring quality patient care and maintaining awareness of legal and ethical issues distinguishes healthcare management from other industries.
Health Informatics
This concentration examines Health Informatics focusing on electronic medical-health-related data that is generated and stored in health care and public health organizations. It is concerned with such issues as electronic information systems and applications; data collection and analysis; program design, implementation, and management, and the application of the systems to the patient, and how clinical components of patient care are managed and structured in the electronic health record (EHR).
Organizational Excellence
Students who choose this concentration will earn a Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt in Healthcare certificate from Bay Path University. This certificate focuses on optimizing workflow, increasing efficiency, and reducing waste using the Lean/Six Sigma methodology. This approach provides a problem-solving framework and quality tools that address operational problems, specifically in the healthcare organization.
Public Health
The MS in Healthcare Management, Public Health concentration, blends core curriculum with specificity in Public Health and supports the rapidly emerging profession contributing to the new frontier in healthcare. Current trends in higher education data indicate that the field of public health is growing, and this concentration offers students an additional educational pathway to access this expanding field. Course offerings align with current healthcare trends, prospective student interests, the needs of the workforce, and Bay Path’s strong existing graduate programs.
Upon completing the program, students will be employable by hospitals, medical centers, physicians, medical insurance companies, biomedical laboratories, and policy centers in healthcare management.
