About the Program

Location

The program is located at the Philip H. Ryan Health Science Center, a 58,000-square-foot facility on two floors. The Center is located four miles from the main campus and features the following components

  • Several traditional and collaborative classrooms with ample seating.
  • Two physical diagnosis labs, measuring 1920 ft.² and 1520 ft.² Between the two labs there are 20 assessment bays with ample equipment, models and supplies for curricular needs.
  • Various seating areas for students, common areas for group study, comfortable seating options for short-term breaks between classes or longer study sessions.
  • A café serving breakfast and lunch, a self-service kitchen/vending area for those students who choose to “brown bag” it.
  • Full wireless technology throughout the Center, several student computer workstations as well as two high-volume, multifunction networked printers.
  • Access to the building and labs are available by key card access during building hours 7 days a week.
  • Parking for 350 vehicles.

Structure

The program is an on ground 24-month program with hybrid experiences, divided into two segments, 12-months didactic and 12-months clinical.

This unique schedule allows time for student rest, reflection and remediation if necessary. The break schedule also introduces wellness concepts for a challenging career in an attempt to reduce burnout.
  •  Clinical schedule
  • 11, 4-week clinical clerkships in the following areas: family medicine, inpatient medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, behavioral health, 3 electives, and 1 specialty experience
  • A 3.03 - Physician Assistant students are not required to provide or solicit clinical sites. It is the responsibility of the program to secure clinical training sites and preceptors consistent with the number of enrolled students.
