Atty. Delmarina López was raised in Chicopee, MA. She is a first-generation college graduate who obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bay Path University and a Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law. She was also the youngest person to serve as an intern for the Governor of Massachusetts' Western Mass Office when she was just 16. She is currently a City Councilor in Chicopee, where she represents the neighborhood she grew up in, Ward 3 in Willimansett. She is also the founder of Delmarina Lopez Consulting, where she leverages her legal skills to support small to mid-sized businesses.

Delmarina is currently running for the position of Mayor of Chicopee, citing her deep-seated commitment to social justice and her dedication to creating a brighter future for the city as her inspiration for running.

Delmarina would describe herself as “passionate.” She is a passionate advocate, public servant, and City Councilor for the City of Chicopee. She is also an Educator, Attorney, City Councilor, and small business owner. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and a board member at the YWCA of Western MA. Her work and commitment to community service and equity have earned her recognition on the Latino 30 Under 30 for El Mundo Boston 2022 list, as well as BusinessWest’s 40 Under Forty Class of 2023.

What is Convocation?

Convocation is a beloved University tradition where we congratulate our seniors on reaching their final year as well as formally induct our new undergraduate students into the academy.
