The future of the university is bright, yet it is set to evolve dramatically from its current form. This session will explore how the university's mission will shift to emphasize "knowledge in place," becoming a central player in creative place-making and economic development. Universities will become key sites for the integration of human and artificial intelligence, focusing on "making the future." As the pace of knowledge growth accelerates, lifelong engagement with educational institutions will become the norm, replacing the traditional concept of alumni. With knowledge increasingly influencing global strategies, universities will play a crucial role in the global security framework. Despite facing challenges regarding their value, workforce preparation, and ideological stance, universities have the potential to transform and thrive.
