Bay Path Retiring Faculty Granted Emeritus/Emerita Status

During the 2024 Commencement ceremony, Bay Path University recently awarded emeritus, emerita, and dean emeritus status to several distinguished faculty members who are retiring. This honor recognizes their significant contributions and dedication to the university over the years.

 

The honorees among the faculty who received the designation are:

 

Dr. Christine Bacon, Professor and Chair, Science Department

 

Sandra Burns, Professor of Arts and Business, and Coordinator, Interior Design Program

 

Patricia Drewniak, Assistant Professor in Science Department and Director of Science Laboratories

 

Dr. John Jarvis, Professor of Liberal Studies

 

Dr. Mohammed Sattar, Associate Professor and Director, MBA Program

 

Dr. Gina Semprebon, Professor of Biology and Founding Director, The Center of Excellence for Women in Science

 

Dr. James Wilson, Professor of Business

 

And Dr. Thomas Loper, Associate Provost and Dean, School of Management & Technology, elected Dean Emeritus.

 

Carrie Burr ’86, Chair of the Board of Trustees conferred the titles (in her words):

 

“In accordance with the bylaws of the University, the Board of Trustees have herewith voted and approved the honorable status of Emeritus/Emerita and those designated as such will remain members of the Bay Path community and be invited to attend all official ceremonies of the University, including participation in future Commencement exercises.

 

As the Chair of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the following faculty members are now each granted full Emeritus/Emerita status upon their upcoming retirement.”
