Bay Path University Welcomes its Largest Incoming Class Since 2020

Bay Path University is excited to announce the arrival of the class of 2028 traditional student class and incoming transfer students, the largest since Fall 2020. This dynamic group of 188 students, includes 148 first-year students and 40 transfer students, reaffirming the appeal of our mission that focuses on internships, career preparation, and lifelong learning.

The traditional class of 2028 and transfers hail from 17 different states and countries.  Students are joining us from places as far as Nepal and as close as neighboring Connecticut. Some of the states represented include California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, among others.

As they prepare to enter the classroom, this year’s top enrolling majors highlight the diverse academic interests of our students:

  • Medical Science / Biology
  • Forensic Psychology
  • Interior Design: Residential and Commercial
  • Psychology
  • Child Psychology

Transfer Students Bringing Experience and Perspective

The entering traditional class also boasts a strong contingent of transfer students, with 21.5% of the class bringing with them valuable experience from other institutions. On average, these students are transferring 58 credits. The top community colleges from which these transfer students hail include Holyoke Community College (HCC), Springfield Technical Community College (STCC), Quinsigamond Community College, and Asnuntuck Community College.  Bay Path has a strong transfer program and is a member of MA Guarantee, a transfer partnership between Massachusetts community colleges and participating four-year colleges and universities. 

Championing First-Generation Students

More than half of the incoming class—58%—are first-generation college students, reflecting Bay Path's ongoing commitment to providing opportunities and access for those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education.

Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity

Diversity remains a cornerstone of the Bay Path experience. The students from the entering class are no exception: 34.5% of students identify as Hispanic or Latino. The class also boasts a strong academic foundation, with an average incoming GPA of 3.3.

Building a Vibrant Campus Community

With 52% of the class living on campus, Bay Path’s residential community allows students to have the opportunity to engage fully in campus life, participating in a wide range of activities and traditions, while taking that first important step to independence. According to Niche.com, the 2024 Safest College Campuses ranks Bay Path University the safest college in Massachusetts and the third safest in America. The list reviews 1,400 schools are based on key statistics and student reviews using the U.S. Department of Education data.
