Class of 2021: Welcome to Bay Path!
Cars, trucks and vans are streaming onto Bay Path University’s Longmeadow campus as first-year students begin to arrive.
The new class of upwards of 225 students will be participating in WELLcome Week—five days of events, information sessions, and activities that helps students transition to college life. It will culminate on Monday, August 28th at 5:30 am for the Bay Path tradition of Campus Awakening, a community-wide gathering ushering in the first day of classes.
Today, August 23rd, will be a day of welcoming and information gathering as students and parents learn strategies to cope with the first big step of attending college. There will be a President’s Welcome Reception at 4:15 pm in Deepwood Circle, and at the conclusion, parents and friends will say their official “good-byes.”
Other highlights over the coming days include: interactive workshops based on Claiming an Education by Adrienne Rich; how to get a work study job on campus; diversity training; and a guided sound meditation session. The goal of the WELLcome Week is to create a pathway to ease students into college life while developing community and common bonds of friendship.
