Academic Achievement Day (AAD) is a Bay Path tradition. Now in its 12th year, AAD is a daylong celebration of the entire community.
The event kicked off in the morning with a rousing musical greeting of the day in Blake Dining Commons for students, faculty, and staff, while our alumni and friends gathered in Empsall Hall for a breakfast coordinated by our Advancement team to celebrate the successful completion of the Vision Forward fundraising effort. Every hour forward was packed with presentations, lectures, and events. Here are some of the highlights of the day…
- Dr. Diane Hall’s Domestic Violence class was front and center with their Clothesline Project. The class partnered with Holyoke-based Alianza DV Services and worked with Bay Path alumna Emily Pelletier Skoczylas ’11, the Education and Outreach Coordinator of the organization. Alianza is a nonprofit that assists and empowers those whose lives are impacted by domestic abuse. As part of the Clothesline Project, each student in Dr. Hall’s class expressed their own thoughts and feelings about domestic violence on a T-shirt that was then displayed in the Blake Student Commons. It was a powerful statement on women supporting women and keeping one of our most important societal issues at the forefront.
- And over 115 Bay Path students presented sessions on campus and online throughout the day.
