It is an annual rite of June to welcome a new cohort of students to Bay Path’s MS in Physician Assistant Studies program.  The profile of members of the Class of 2025, who hail from across the country, continues the impressive roster of candidates who have enrolled in Bay Path’s top-ranked program. A snapshot of the Class of 2025 shows they have:

  • An overall undergraduate GPA average of 3.55;
  • An average patient contact hours of 2988 hours before they begin the program;
  •  And 50% are underrepresented minorities.

In their first two weeks, the new students completed an onboarding process that prepared them in areas critical to their early success in the program, including how to:  focus on academics, maintain wellness, leverage our physician assistant alumni network, practice cultural humility as introduced by workshops, learn about university services, and implement test-taking strategies. To introduce them to patient-centered care that is one of the hallmarks of being a physician assistant, all the members of the Class of 2025 participated in a poverty simulation which mimicked living in poverty for one month.

During the summer, the class will have a deep dive into their profession by starting with dermatology; eye, ear, nose, and throat studies; and endocrinology.

“As always we are excited to begin this life changing journey with our new cohort and prepare our future medical practitioners,” said Professor Theresa Riethle, director of the MS in Physician Assistant Studies program.  “We look forward to their next milestone in the profession:  the White Coat Ceremony which will be held on December 14, 2023.”
