With Great Sadness...

It was with a heavy heart that President Carol Leary and the Bay Path community heard of the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the revered father figure of Thailand and the longest-reigning monarch in the world.

Special condolences are being sent to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, daughter of the King. Her Royal Highness has had a long and deep friendship with President Leary and Noel Leary, and this bond helped forge connections to Bay Path that have been cultivated and cherished over the decades. For almost 20 years, we have proudly welcomed graduates of the Palace School located in Bangkok, Thailand who have enrolled at Bay Path as Princess Maha Chakri Sirindorn scholars. In 2004, Bay Path was honored to grant Her Royal Highness an honorary degree, and in 2011 she was the Commencement speaker at graduation.

His Royal Majesty served his country with warmth and love for his people. He will forever be remembered for the stability and prosperity he brought to Thailand, and for making his compassionate "service-to-country first" leadership the envy of the world. We are saddened by the loss of such a great man who was much beloved by his country and his people, and send our thoughts and prayers to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
