The presentations and panel will look at the challenges of developing a healthy cybersecurity ecosystem that responds to the ever-changing environment of cybercrimes and intrusions.

Longmeadow, MA (September 24, 2018)—The 6th Annual Cybersecurity Summit will be held on the Longmeadow campus of Bay Path University on Friday, October 5, 2018. This free event will start with a networking continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by presentations by our panelists and an open Q&A session to begin at 8:00 a.m. Speakers will include:

Derrick Donnelly, Co-founder and Chief Scientist at BlackBag Technologies, a leading provider of multi-platform forensic software and hardware solutions;
Margaret Weichert, Federal Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget, Washington, D.C.;
Suzette Kent, Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Office of Management and Budget.

This year’s Summit will address how cyberspace is constantly evolving and generating new cyber threats and attacks. How do companies, organizations, and government respond? The answer is they must develop a healthy cybersecurity ecosystem, one that also includes a cyber-resilient culture, leadership team, and workforce that can readily react and adapt to any scenario.

Our panelists are on the front lines of cybersecurity. Donnelly will share his observations about the major challenges and threats that BlackBag Technologies is addressing each day as one of the world’s leading digital forensic companies. Weichert will address how to develop an effective cyber workforce, focusing on skill gaps and retention. And Kent will speak to the emerging cyber technologies and mitigating threats, particularly the more detailed side of cybersecurity within government agencies.

The Cybersecurity Summit is sponsored by Bay Path University’s undergraduate and graduate programs in cybersecurity and computer science, and the MindEdge Cybersecurity and CISSP® courses and professional certificates now offered through the Strategic Alliances division of Bay Path; and by the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts.
