Longmeadow, MA— Bay Path University’s EdD in Higher Education Leadership and Organizational Studies (HELOS) program will offer a direct entry track for bachelor’s degree holders looking to earn their doctoral degree beginning in Fall 2025.

This new track enables learners to obtain an EdD degree in a four-year, 60-credit track that directly segues from a bachelor’s degree to a doctorate, without needing to complete a master’s degree.

As the first program in the country to address both the technical and adaptive challenges now facing nearly all higher education institutions, the EdD Educational Leadership HELOS degree is designed to prepare future presidents, provosts, deans, faculty, and other administrative officers to transform colleges and universities into responsive, nimble and resilient institutions.

“Higher ed is at a critical juncture.  It’s an opportune time for professionals who are passionate about strengthening institutions that support students looking to better themselves through education,” says Mela Dutka, Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor. “Our program taps into that passion and leadership and gives our doctoral students the chance to launch big ideas and advance their leadership to make these big ideas work.”

The program is delivered online, with one residency weekend held each year on Bay Path’s Longmeadow campus, providing flexibility along with access to a dynamic community of peers and faculty. Coursework incorporates case studies, workplace-focused research, leadership self-assessment, and one-on-one mentoring and coaching.
