Bay Path University online bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity ranked #5 in nation for return on investment
Longmeadow, MA—Bay Path University’s online bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity was recognized by college ranking guide OnlineU as the number five program in the nation on their list of cyber degree programs that provide the best return on investment to students.
Basing their rankings on data collected from the Department of Education measuring salaries, tuition costs, and student loan payments, OnlineU calculated the 10-year return on investment for a Bay Path cybersecurity degree at $325,100.
The only women’s college on the list, Bay Path offers a fully online bachelor of science in cybersecurity with a concentration on digital forensics and incident response. In the U.S., women make up only 20% of the cybersecurity workforce, but as consumer spending is increasingly controlled by women, businesses are actively seeking women to bring new perspectives and ideas to cybersecurity roles.
“Our online degree program is specifically designed for women who are balancing busy personal lives with big professional goals,” says Beverly Benson, program director of the online cybersecurity program at the University. “Along with the skills students learn through classes and projects, we connect them to online internships where they’re exposed to real work scenarios and can also see the advancement opportunities the cyber field holds.”
Because ROI evaluates income and debt over time, it’s a useful indicator for determining whether the upfront expense of an online program is worth it in the long run.
“We know that a degree in cybersecurity puts students on a path to in demand, rewarding, and high-paying careers in a growing industry, and this ranking confirms that a Bay Path degree is an investment that pays off,” Benson explains.
OnlineU is the first college ranking service to calculate the cost of a degree, debt and salary in developing its lists. Their full list is available here.
